Nias Island is an outstanding 
destination for winter bodyboard and surf trip. It is less crowded compared to summertime and the wave quality is still epic. A swell comes every 5 or 6 days and lasts for one week. You can check on a swell forecast web site if you don’t trust me !

When the forecast says 2,5 ft 14s period then the point in lagundry bay breaks 4ft…. and the wave shape is perfect…
When the outside is not breaking there are a lot of things to do. First the inside point is a lovely wave and breaks 365/365 days a year. If you don’t want to ride, go for a boat trip for fishing or cruising around the Island, you will discover some amazing beaches and many places for diving and snorkling. You can also visit Nias traditionnal villages or go to town for shoping. Teluk Dalam is a 30 min ride far away by motorbike.
So don’t hesitate to come to Nias between November and March ! Before people know !
